A Failed Student

Oh dear, training didn’t go very well today, for two main reasons:

  1. Something had passed through the training field in the morning and left such lovely scents on the ground – how could I possibly ignore them, even though Mummy wanted me to work?
  2. Mummy has always taught us with both voice and hand signals (as brother Shandy is going deaf he relies more on hand signals), but today Mummy was having to give me instructions at a distance.  Well, if she used hand signals then I just ran towards her before doing the action, and if she didn’t use hand signals then I wasn’t sure what to do.  So it was back to basics to learn instructions purely on voice only – she told me what she wanted and I tried really hard to work it out, but as I wasn’t sure I tended to get in the position and then immediately return to a sit – Mummy said I wasn’t in the position long enough for her to reward me.

I’m so glad Cousins Gizzy and Sparky came round to play this afternoon, as I was feeling a little down after class.
